Biography

John Baken, MFA/MALIS, begins a new position as Head Librarian IV at Willmar Public Library in Minnesota on September 8, 2014. Before returning to public librarianship, John was a Reference & Instruction Librarian at Fontbonne University’s Jack C. Taylor Library in St. Louis, Missouri. John is married to Mary Beth (Berger) and has three children: Augustus “Gus” (16), Clyde (11), and Frances (8). John Baken is originally from Absarokee, Montana, where he grew up playing ball against the Lodge Grass Indians, which is on the Crow Indian reservation. Baken has been a member of the American Indian Library Association since 2004.
